The bonking scenes just save effort on the part of the script writer.  Lazy.

I've still no objection to them.

We do, we don’t want to watch other people bonking, fills a few minutes of a programme and no script to write.

I rather watch folk bonking, than killing each other, but both have their place in a plot at times.

I can't just sit and watch TV these days - except Strictly which requires active viewing of the dancing and some of the more visual documentaries - so do embroidery or something else to keep my mitts busy.  I mostly listen these days.  That means dialogue and plot development are important.  Bonking, tho maybe relevant sometimes between characters, is not.

If you "mostly just listen" that might explain why you don't like it? ;):D

Well, whatever happened to intelligent dialogue for grown-ups?   If I want car chases I could bore myself to tears with the Grand Prix, explosions I can get in cheap American imports and the like.

Just watched first episode of Black Earth Rising, thought it was gripping and positively menacing, very good indeed.

Watched episode 3 last night. It's still gripping and menacing.
