Glad you like them, Obxx. Have you been to any of the gardens?

There is a section in the CPG about plant fibres (with examples of fabrics made from cotton, linen, banana, hemp, etc etc.). I found this article when reading up about whether modal, rayon and tencel are biodegradable (@Fire it also mentions eucalyptus): https://www.life.ca/naturallife/0908/ecofiber_or_fraud.htm

So they say that modal, tencel, rayon etc are fully biodegradable, as made from wood, but the processes are often intensive, not v eco. I guess like with any other provenance, it's good to source from ethical companies, as long as they know themselves where their materials come from and monitor the product line to its source.

I'm still surprised eucalyptus cloth is not more popular over here, using by-product from the paper industry in Europe. I know some big clothes companies here try to sell clothes made of bamboo and soya, but withdrew the lines as there wasn't enough interest. All fabric creation seems enormously water-intensive, for growing and processing.

It seems - according to the article, anyway - that Tencel production is relatively green. Not t'others, sadly.

Bamboo fabric is lovely. I have socks, and my kids had quite a few bamboo nappies. But other clothes seem prohibitively expensive (the socks were free!).

I get quite a lot of clothes in good condition second hand from Ebay. Lots of cheap soya, bamboo, hemp there. Thought Clothing is a nice company (new or discounted). Sale now on.
Try searching NWT, NWOT, and worn once.

I've been  twice now, and I'd certainly go again - but not in this heat!
    In London. Keen but lazy.

It was indeed a lovely day out - would have been even nicer if a bit cooler, but never mind.  :)

Most of my other photos are duplicates of others on here.   :D

Ha ha, yes Liri, we did tend to take the same photos, didn't we? I'm sure I saw you take more than that though. Can you remind me what the tree with the red bark was (flowers in my photos but you can see the red out of focus in the background)?

I like the Liriodendron / Palace photo. Thats was a fantastic tree.
