Lovely idea :D  As OH is still looking for work having been made redundant, we're tightening our belts a bit, especially as we have a holiday booked for mid May and two family weddings in May and June :-0  and of course Wonky, having just started a new job will be restricted as to what leave she can take, but I am interested in joining you ... just go ahead and arrange things and if we can be with you we will  :)

At some point we'll have to pick a date, but maybe not quite yet. @Liriodendron, how far in advance do you have to know in order to get the cheap train tickets? And did you want to try to combine it with your Hampton Court trip, or keep it separate?

@LG - cheap train tickets go on sale 12 weeks before the date of travel - though I could always travel down by overnight bus, like I did for Kew... those also get more expensive nearer the time you go, but you can book them a lot sooner (ie now for summer, if you wanted).

It would be amazing if it were possible to combine it with my Hampton Court trip - ie the day before or day after - but there are lots of people's preferences to consider here.   :)

12 weeks from now takes us to the beginning of June. The latter half (after the 19th) would be better for me, so I'm wondering how others feel about doing it in Hampton Court week (3-8 July)? Or is that too late?

I'm still considering doing a recce of the Physic Garden, as I asked friends at college when they would recommend going and several said "I've always wanted to go but have never been"! This seems to be a common situation, so might require a college trip ;)

However those who have visited the Garden Museum were damning. Really damning! Maybe not one to travel for.

Can only do Monday 2nd that week as it's a Jonah nanny duty week, but obviously you have to go with the majority.  Just letting you know.  Like Liri I would need to buy a cheap train ticket in advance.

I'm perfectly content to do a different week if that suits people better.  I can get to London by coach for under a tenner...   :)

    I’m pretty adaptable.

Went to the CPG for the first time a few weeks ago - for their snowdrops.  It is not a large space but they pack a lot in.  Would probably need to combine it with something else if we were to make a day of it though.  The roof gardens on the royal festival hall are meant to be worth a visit.  Or maybe a picnic in one of the parks ?

Just wondered if we had decided on any possible dates for our outing?

@Yviestevie - sorry, missed your post.  I don't think we've come to a decision yet.  Do you need to know very soon?

No,just want time to check whether or not I can do the date and get cheap train ticket.  Just didn't want it falling off everyone's radar.
