Cheers.....Dove .....just feeling a bit low at the mo....back to Moscow on Thursday where it is a mild ~-1.....so there is no big ICY blow from there ......as I am now finally , categorically and officially retired ......on the third attempt .....we have some serious decisions to make ......our little Yorkie is now homing in on 16 years , which we know is unusual and we don't want to think about life without him at the moment....we need to move and it will happen soon ......all will be revealed
Hi all. Beautiful and sunny here, but bitterly cold. Still no water and no plans to distribute bottled water. Apparently as a community we are too spread out and several roads are still blocked.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
That's sad, Dacha. Seems to happen much more nowadays.
Been to the Doc, took nearly 2 hours. Eyelid swelling is an infection in the root of an eyelash, needs antibiotic cream. Leg aches are nerve that gets trapped in arthritic spine, knee bother is tendon trouble, arthritis in it isn't too bad, same for foot. Even though I'm well over 27 I can carry on with HRT, so long as I have the 2 yearly mammographies, as it prevents osteoporosis. GP is also a chiropractor so interested in bones.
Cold and wet outside.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Pdoc....excuse my ignorance but where are you located ?......can't believe the predicament you find yourselves in ? ......every little Russian village has a pump .....just in case .....actually that is the case !
Sorry to hear your family news, Dacha - yes, increasingly common, but still upsetting. Hope you and your OH can be a stabilising influence for your little GD - and that your exciting plans for the future come to fruition.
Can you get out to a local shop, Punkdoc? I remember your road was blocked... or have you water-purifying tablets to use in thawed snow, or other "suspect" water?
Glad the doctor is pleased with you, BL, and that the eyelid infection is easily treatable. Getting past 27 isn't always pain-free, I find...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Sorry to hear your news Dacha, hopefully all will work out for the best. We were lucky when secondborn divorced, no children involved. It still wasn't a good time.
P'doc can't believe you are still without water, does that mean that the local school is closed too? Do you know anyone with a 4x4 who might be able to get some supplies to you?
I've been out to fill car with fuel and get it cleaned, it's bitterly cold even though we have a lovely blue sky and sunshine.
Had a quick look round the garden and the frogspawn looks OK, checked the greenhouse and gave plants a little water, everything looks snug in there.
Since then I've been reading the latest GW Mag and watching TV. Can't wait for things to warm up a bit.
We have water. Who would have thought that in the 21st. century, in the 1st. world, such a thing would be so exciting. Don't suppose we will get a reduction in our bill.
