Lovely story Liri. Our Belgian house had redundant chimneys too but were ignored for nearly 2 decades before we suddenly had jackdaws all over the place. Then one bright spark built a nest at the top of the downpipe from the main house gutter. Took us ages to work out the problem - not to mention getting OH up a ladder - by which time we had damp in the bedroom in that corner. Then another decided to build on the CH chimney. Took our CH man ages to clean out all the crud that fell to the bottom but we managed to get a cover fitted.
No jackdaws here so far or jays.
Yet another heavy shower so back in for a coffee break. OH has rotavated a strip along the pond so I can plant out my new cornus albas and the two conifers that go purple bronze in winter. Happy Obxx.
