    Morning all.
Terrible week so I'm glad it's Friday...normally one day is much like another in the charmed life that I lead.  :)
A big well done to BL for the following comment "at least there was a rainbow in the SM car park."  <3
LP my bro invariably went delerious with a temperature and I've lost count of the number of giant spiders and hippopotasmans (still so called to this day) I've had to see off on his behalf! I hope GD feels better soon.
If the rain stays off I shall be in the newly uncovered Dingly Dell planting shadey things. can't wait!
    Enjoy your Friday.

We’re a couple of thousand miles away from the cyclone Obelixx. It just brings back memories, that’s all.😢

I know Pat but in the UK and western France we get tail ends of west Atlantic hurricanes and they can be very excitable.

Rain has stopped play!  Not forecast.  Not happy.  I knew we were in trouble when this came over just in time for the chaps fixing the garage roof blown away by a January storm and the waterproofing strip on the annex and the holes in the barn wall where stones were blown out.

Dove - oop north it's thrawn and refers to a twisted or crooked nexk but also being ill-tempered but then I guess you would be if your neck had been got at by elements or other.

    Hi all.
Woken up to thick fog, is this supposed to be Spring?
Snow forecast for this afternoon, so will be putting some of the stuff I moved out of the greenhouse, back in again.
All window sills now full, so further seed sowing suspended until I can move stuff out to the greenhouse.
Big decision to make this weekend, it is OH's family gathering in Scotland starting on the 23rd., for a week. Normally I love it, but it is very full on, big walks, much merriment and drinking, and I am not sure my health is up to it at the moment. Discussion required.
How can you lie there and think of England

    Morning all.
    Decent sleep at last.
I think to day might be the start of agapanthus potting on. Has anyone seen the scene from Blue Planet 1 where all the shellfish form a line waiting for the next shell size up to become available? It's like that.

It's very un PC of me say so , but IMHO Russia is a country run by crooks and thugs , primarily for the benefit of crooks and thugs.

No it's not Hosta.  You're absolutely right.

Pdoc - it's a hard one.  For several years I accompanied OH and Possum to Livigno for skiing with 3 or 4 other families tho, cos of slipped lumbar discs, I couldn't ski myself.  I enjoyed the scenery and the group meals but found the rest very dull and slow and would get very frustrated when all they talked about was their day's skiing - insensitive cos I love it and had been quite good.   Much better once I had the infiltrations and could at least ski the wide red runs.

Assuming you enjoy the people involved and are up to being sociable, maybe you could take some good reading and a camera to keep you occupied while they're out walking?

Sun's out now.  I'm off outside again.

Morning all sunny but not for long. It's supposed to snow tomorrow and I have a tree surgeon booked to cut back leylandii and rowan before the nesting season.

Think OH might appreciate you joining her on the trip especially as you've been down south recently. You could always not take part in the more strenuous activities. You will probably really enjoy it once you get there.

Errands to run this morning and not sure what else I'll be doing.

I think part of the problem is that because of the size of Russia with its huge ethnic and cultural mix and because of the crooks and thugs, a lot of the Russian people feel safest if the chap in charge is the biggest and strongest crook and thug ...   its no coincidence that this is happening just before an election.  Putin will benefit if he can convince the electorate that Russia is being backed into a corner by the West.

Pdoc ... that sort of gathering sounds as if someone spending the daytime  putting a hearty casserole in the oven and then settling down by a toasty warm fire with a good book and a dram (and possibly a nap)  to await the wanders' return would be welcome.

That's usually my role since my knees started playing silly beggars  ;)
