    Hi all.
Continued to snow all day yesterday, we now have a lot!
Woke this morning to no water and no heating, no idea what is going on, and of course noone is answering the phone.
    It's grim up North.

    Glad hubby is ok. Pat.
Stay warm and safe everyone, I may have to start chopping up the furniture for firewood. :)

    Yes Dove. :)

Mystery solved. Burst water main, no idea when it will be solved.
Luckily heating was just frozen outflow pipe, which I have unfrozen, so heating is now on, although house is a tad chilly.

Brrrr!  Hope that gets sorted soon Pdoc ... It's chilly here too ... this house is pretty well insulated, but this bitter wind is finding a way in somehow ... we've turned the rads up  :)

We had about four inches of snow. It looks like the gritters forgot to do the main roads around here, but they are passable. The side roads are bad.  We have got drifts in odd places, mainly because a lot of the snow was the stuff like polystyrene balls rather than large flakes.  The neighbours cat is currently curled up on my spare bed.  He was sat on the front doorstep when I got back from fetching the papers and crumpets. I haven't even put the lamb in the oven yet. He usually arrives as it is cooking.   I bought some suet pellets, peanuts and a big sack of sunflower seeds for the birds.  I spent more on the birds than on us.

The good news is, apparently the water main supplies the school, so it is a priority to get it fixed. Sounds promising.

My brother was really busy last snow storm, mainly prioritising British Gas customers who were very old, paid for British Gas homecare  boiler service, but getting no reply from British Gas as to when their boilers would be fixed. Anyone with a condensing boiler, a hairdryer is very useful for defrosting the water drip pipe. The main problem with this type of boiler, is when you need it most, they break down.

This really is not fair! This is our snow at the moment, why isn’t it hanging on the trees and shrubs like Hostafans? We are nearer to the Moors than he is, and this is what we’ve got, <Stampingfeetsmiley> 😀😀
