English brass bands are quite restrictive in their instruments, Obelixx - brass really means brass; cornets, flugelhorn, tenor horns, trombones, tubas. There's a great tradition around here in the NW, of course.
LG, I quite fancy the tenor horn. Nice mellow tone, not too piercing. Also reasonably small and portable. I'll see how it goes.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hello everyone. I’ve just caught up with you all and your doings. Lilyp, I’ve been scratching my head about what “an episode” could be. Hope she gets better soon. Punkdoc, there’s no chance of me being able to guess your quotes. Sound interesting though. While watching the news last night, I’m a bit troubled by the Russian/UK situation that seems to be developing. I hope people like Dacha won’t find life difficult over there. We are getting rather cool nights now and the garden is showing more signs of changing to autumn. i must admit that 44 degrees is too extreme for me.
OH has lost his car registration document so the morning was spent hunting for it to no avail, then ordering another one, but the French website wouldn't work.
Then we had to go to the SM for supplies, needed milk, bread and other essentials. The milk that I'd frozen had gone funny and separated, hasn't happened before. Leclerc was having a big rearrangement. Couldn't find Persil washing liquid or loo rolls, there was a wine fair in their place. Had to ask at reception who gave me a map of the new store. There have opened the extension at the end and there was the washing stuff and loo rolls, miles away from the fruit and veg and fishmonger. The store is enormous now and there are a load of new shops in the shopping mall bit around it. It's too big for comfort.
Dishwasher heating element has gone so we went to look at dishwashers too.
Poured with rain this afternoon, at least there was a rainbow in the SM car park.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Pat & Obelixx, not sure if I'll get an absolutely free choice of instrument, since they are loaned by members of the band. Joyce, that might just be a good idea...

Liri, the brass instruments idea sound good. I’ll be interested to hear what you choose.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Don't know where the day has gone!
