Thanks for the info Lirio. I don't think we have got one round here. I would not be eligible though, as I am employed .......when the doc says I am well enough to go back , hopefully in April.
Good morning everyone. It's wet here too Yvie. Good, cos yesterday I planted out some anemone de Caen corms and some bearded iris after filling a wheelbarrow full of weeds from a small patch of the front bed.
Patchwork group this pm so OK for it to be raining all day.
I've tried to find U3A here but there isn't one - odd given that I understand it's a movement that started in France. However, Olonne, about 20kms away has a very active retired community with all sorts of groups for this and that so we're hoping to find some Spanish classes there for September. Other than that, I shall be doing willow weaving this Sunday and mosaics in May with members from the gardeners' club as well as helping organise the annual plant fair in April.
Pdoc - glad you've found a way to help. PP - sorry you're having troubles with the new look. Chicky - sounds like a wonderful visit. Hope the trip home goes OK. Yours too Busy. Hosta - bed or sofa today. Pat - that cold already?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Pat and Hosta - sorry to hear you're poorly. Hosta, all my siblings suddenly went down with something very similar in the middle of last week. We'd all seen each other on the Sunday - I don't know if I've escaped it or if it's just biding its time... Rest, both of you.
Liri - I thought that was a really good book too. Slightly better than The Kite Runner, imo.
Hmmm, so far I've updated the church website, put a wash on and not a lot else. My back hurts but I've more computer stuff to do.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
I've got a hideous ,stinking cold. The full works of headache, running / blocked nose, sandpaper throat, the lot. Feeling very sorry for myself.
I have been the same since last Wednesday OH had it first despite hitting the Echinacea extract hard it still got me so watch out LG, hope you escape. Step Daughter yesterday totally unsympathetic just moaned that other GD (who stayed over this weekend) better not bring it home. PDoc take care hope they appreciate what you are doing for them. Staring at the rain itching to get going so hope cold clears soon, my ma always said a cold lasts 7 days if you treat it & a week if don't so hope it will be gone by tomorrow but I am not holding my breath (can't anyway sneezing too much).
Sorry to hear you're poorly Hosta stay tucked up warm with a good book and a hot toddy, that's my recommendation. Been out getting wet myself, sorted out my teeny tiny greenhouse 4' x 6' and moved my potted on seedlings into it. Hope they are going to be OK I do keep it frost free but the way the weather is who knows. That gave me more room on the conservatory windowledge so I've potted on my dwarf cosmos and more petunias. I've run out of pots now so will need to get some more and get another bag of compost.
Mmm fell into the trap of posting at the bottom of the wrong page which meant I missed all the posts on page 17. Think that's one for Nora to look at, I think others have done it by mistake. Can't see what the use of a posting box at the end of every page could be. Might have a look at U3A, knew what it was but haven't checked if there is a group in my area. Mind you not sure I can fit anything in with all the nanna duties. Have just found out that Mabel has chickenpox so I'll be looking after her on Wednesday. Apparently she's insisting she has Chickenspots not Chickenpox and hubby has told her to be careful as she might grow feathers.
I fell into that trap early on ... now when I scroll down to the blank box I try to remember to glance at the page numbers ... if I'm not on the last one I move to the next page ... I've just got to get into the habit of doing it
Good luck with the Chicken spots ... I had it as an adult as I caught it from Wonky and her brother ... you really don't want to know where I had spots ...... I was sooooooooo ill

LP, hope your fog has lifted.
