  • Apologies for being AWOL but with the snow then a head cold its been a bit of a struggle the last few weeks.
But all on the mend now just a tickle cough that always starts at 3am  :s and lasts about an hour.
At last some sunshine today and I did get to my new allotment to have a good look and its not bad mostly all covered in weed suppressant fabric, a rickety shed needs some tlc but all in all I'm very happy  :)

Sometimes it doesn't do to stop Dove.  We had a lazy day yesterday just pottering about gently before a lovely roast guinea fowl dinner and I fell asleep on the sofa watching GW afterwards.

LG - I won't be planting up our pond as it will dry out by mid summer.  It's more a case of planting round the edges to disguise the muck when it does dry out and for one whole side we need bulldozer man to come back and remove the foundations of a building that's been razed.  First I have to work out exactly where they are...........

Plenty of potential there HH and not overgrown with brambles, which seems often to be the case. That shed is definitely leaning to starboard though.....

Morning. Can't say I envy you Hosta. Still suffering the after effects of the marathon gardening session on Sunday. Will keep moving though and will try and do a bit more today. It's worse if I just sit about.
HH that allotment looks a lot of hard work but I'm sure you will enjoy it. Have a good day everyone.

Morning Hosta. Hope your day is ok

Its amazing how hard it is to organise our home time. Just when we thought the fire call outs had finished, Hubby’s pager went off to announce a Motor Vehicle accident up the hill from us. Fire brigade needs to attend in case of spilled fuel,  etc. well. It was Regina’s almost 90 year old mother who had swerved to avoid a Wallaby and rolled her Ute several times. She’s been taken to hospital but is reportedly ok.  Vehicle doesn’t look too good. Regina is currently in Sydney, but no doubt hurrying home. The other siblings were in attendance, so Mum’s  not on her own.
so much for getting him to help digging the garden for me.

I meant to add that we had minus 0.6 degrees overnight, so the cucumber and zucchini leaves are looking rather crumpled and black. Looks as though we might have a short autumn.

Didn’t see you there Yvie. Good luck with the gardening.
That allotment looks promising Hampshire Hog. What are you planning to grow?

Good morning all  :) G'day Pat  :) hope Regina's mum is ok. That sort of thing can be a shock at any age.
Hope the day goes ok Hosta. I used to work longer but fewer days when my Aged Ps were still around, to give me a day off a fortnight to spend more time with them. Once I'd adjusted I liked the longer days.
HH that allotment looks full of promise  :)
Yvie ... gently does it  :)
