TBH, I find once you've got up, got sorted, shaved, dressed and AT work, the extra few hours don't seem too bad, especially as I'll be doing more driving ( one leaving at the end of the month )
LG, sorry, we overlapped. I was thinking a nice simple Doric Temple ( a la Diana ) there will be precious few mourners, have no fear ;) . My faults are legion, but vanity isn't one of them.

Slum, I agree with you. I also enjoy the bits of gardening that I don't do, except for Monty's banana, he seems to dig it up and/or plant it every year and it takes too long!

Missed it last night, hadn't realised it was on. We had a dinner party, but lucklily I can watch it on Catch Up.

Pokeweed is hardy and very good at self-seeding.   It was very happy in my Belgian garden so I had to make sure none grew anywhere near the cattle pasture next door.  The flowers were usually buzzing with pollinators and the birds loved the berry like seeds.

I would add the annual instruction on how to prune and then thin grapes to the putting in and autumn lifting of the banana.  They both drive me...... well 'bananas'!

It's repeated on Sunday mornings too Busy.   Not too bad this week except for him saying only to feed the birds till it warms up in a  few weeks.  Should feed them all year so the adults have energy to make good eggs, build good nests and then forage for juicy insects for their babies.

I'd been thinking the same about plastic too.

Didn't like the bamboo - never do - but that Wolverhampton garden was amazing and Adam's treatment of that tiny, oppressive walled garden was brilliant.  I like Adam.

Enjoyed last nights show too. Hopefully we will see even more wildlife segments, as well as a return view of the border Adam planted at his new place last series.

I too watch both GW & Beechgrove & agree while lots of it is not directly of relevance to me it is still interesting. I am not a doggy person either but have heard Monty in interviews say that the first thing most people ask him when they meet him is how's Nigel.
I was not sure at first with the make over Adam did especially when they wheeled out the gravel but the end result looked really good so I forgave him.

LG ... if I remember correctly Hosta has two islands ... one for him and one for the mourners to gather on with the canapés and say, 'Do you remember?'  B)

I was amazed at the garden in Wolverhampton - my poor husband had to listen to me saying " Why can't you build something like that ?". I liked the "ruined gothic chapel"  in particular. Did they say how big that garden was?
Also enjoyed the Adam Frost section, but have to say l wasn't too sure about pruning in the snow!

I think Christopher Lloyd was correct about pruning, when asked by anyone, when do you prune such and such ?, he used to reply: "whenever I think about it, and happen to have a pair of secateurs in my hand"
