I like Carol too we met her years ago at one of the RHS London shows when she still ran her nursery. Was just as she is on TV when we bought plants from her stand  & she was full of good advice very helpful.  Richly deserved  VMH.

The winter garden was beautifully perfect. Carol seems like a very approachable lady and if she can't fill you with garden enthusiasm then I don't think anyone will.  :)

We used to have a natter with her every year at Hampton Court. We always went on  Sunday when it was sell off day. We always bought something, and even got a couple of freebies over the years.
Full of knowledge, happy to chat, bursting with enthusiasm, knows her stuff inside out, ran a successful nursery, sold top quality plants, won lots of RHS medals.
    What's not to like?

Wholeheartedly agree with the enthusiasm for Carol Klein - as well as the congratulations for her VMH.

Carol can be a bit gushing in her enthusiasm for my liking at times, but overall I think she is OK and very informative.  Can't stand Joe Swift.
  • Last week's programme appeared to have been filmed during the Beast from the East episode 1, this week Monty seemed to think Spring had sprung and was blissfully unaware of the impending Beast part II. Presumably, this means in next week's show he's going to be freezing his pleached limes off while we'll all hopefully be out in the beginnings of spring.

Do you think pokeweed would do ok in Scotland? It did look quite exotic! Has anyone grown it?

i grew it in my Belgian garden which got much colder in winter than most of the UK including Beechgrove on the east coast.   Easy plant.

Watched last night's prog. Was reminded to split my clumps of snowdrops, but thought, in view of the weather forecast l would leave cutting back the penstemons for a little while longer.
Can anyone advise , would l be okay to cut back the fern fronds as Monty did ? I'm not sure how tough they are. ( I'm in Gloucestershire).
