@Hostafan1, if the time ever comes when you no longer feel lucky to have a huge garden, you'll have to advertise its sale on here... not sure I could cope with the grass cutting though, now I'm over 27!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Your island is big enough for a burial???!!! Wow. And what about mourners? Is there room for them, or will they be in boats all around? I may be overthinking this.
Back to GW, that pokeweed was an interesting plant. I've heard the name before but never seen it. I liked it - anyone here got any experience of growing it?
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
That's very kind of you. You'll make me blush. It's hard work, but I just love it. I've just changed my rota so I'm doing 2 x 12 hour shifts so I'm at home 5 days, but working ,, technically, 3 x 8 hours a week. The rest of my time is spent gardening.
Sounds a good plan if you can hack the 12-hour shifts, Hosta.
@LG the L, I first encountered Pokeweed (aka Phytolacca, I remember from our plant IDs) in the walled herbaceous garden at horticultural college in Northumberland - so it must be fairly hardy. It's poisonous though, leaves & roots as well as the gorgeous shiny berries, so take care!

When Carol Klein is on a gardening programme we generally get shots of her cats - much more to my taste...
I'm never moving house again.
