Frosty here Hosta, but not too bad. At least it's not raining.
The black cat has given up trying to intimidate the blackbirds and has gone from the windowsill ... presumably to wake his humans and demand breakfast. The day is swinging into action here too and a second coffee is expected ...

Lovely here hope it lasts. Just given my boots a dressing of dubbin in anticipation of a few wet bits. Time for a quick shower, and then Watch Out Sussex......here I come I am hoping that as well as walking, there will be cake
It's been so wet here since mid December I have resurrected my old fell boots for walkies and they drink dubbin. We've had a whole year's worth of rain in January and are now building on this year's ration so the garden is very wet. However, as I can't kneel at the mo, the weeds have another week or so of peace and by then the sun will have been shining for a few days - according to the forecast.
Up early for me cos there's a man her to fox a lighting conundrum in the new kitchen. LED strips under the wall cupboards are misbehaving - one circuit very faint and feeble and one strip so bright it's over-heated its plastic cover. Hmmmm.
Enjoy walkies Chicky. Hope it stays sunny for you.
Hosta - don't mind the rain. You won't miss being in the garden either.
Dove and Joyce - we can get fish and chips here but only in restaurants. Not quite the same as sitting on a bench or wall eating from paper and watching the sea. There's a very good one at Arnside with a great view of Morecambe Bay and the Lake fells and they have mayonnaise!
I have finally pieced together 9 of my learner blocks of patchwork and am about to start the quilting process. Scary stuff. First tacking on the wadding and lining then advice needed. All different blocks so I have no idea how to go about quilting them and then it'll all need backing and binding and hanging. Whose idea was this?
Greetings all. Have a great day. I like a bit of red in a tartan too.

Morning all....after a nice sunny day yesterday we were hoping to walk in Dunham Massey with my daughter and granddaughter .....bloody wet and miserable
Ahh fish and chips ......we had some last night .....can't believe how much salt and vinegar some people want on theirs ....... I like mine as they come ....maybe with a bit of home made tartar sauce
Have a good walk, Chicky - enjoy the sun... and the cake, for people like me who Shouldn't Really.
Never tried fish & chips at Tyndrum. Memo for next time we drive to the cottage...
Hope you find something else interesting to do today with your family, Dacha. There's definitely a limit to how much enjoyment you can get from a wet walk, especially with children...
My garden is like a bog too. Daren't walk on the lawn or I leave dents. But the early spring flowers don't seem to mind - snowdrops, witch hazel and sarcococca are lovely at the moment.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
We were driving from Glasgow airport up to holiday on Skye ..; probably 12 years ago now ... I'd been attending a knee clinic (nothing new there then) and another regular was a chap who was a restaurant critic ... I recognised him and we got talking and I mentioned where we were going and he said, 'You'll be going past an award winning fish and chip shop and there's really not many places on that route where you can just stop and grab a meal and be sure it'll be a good one ... so we took him at his word and didn't regret it ........ I remember there was a large contingent of bikers who followed us in ... I was glad we'd got there first and we didn't have to queue up behind them to give our order ... it would've taken ages.
They were very good fish and chips and kept us going until we got to the cottage up near Kilmuir.
Hope the electrician solves the conundrum Obelixx and that the sore knees are improving.
You're in the wrong part of the country Dacha ... blue skies and sunshine here in East Anglia Hope it clears up so you can have a walk. The birds are singing very loudly this morning.
I'm keeping off the grass too Liri ... knitting and skiing, skating and snowboarding are the plans for today ... actually I'm only going to be doing one of those myself
OH is cooking supper and I've already cleaned the bathroom and put a load in the washer so I have the rest of the day off
