    Morning all.

Obs and Liri, the lilies start off in the tunnel until they bulk up a bit . I'm thinking of trying to sell some for a wee bit of pocket money. Not in a big way, who knows?

I'm going to lift the plants from the pond and split them , they've been in there 2 years, and I'm planning on buying a few more ( £25 each, so not too many ) to divide and bulk up too.

I don't know if anyone remembers the "planting" I did in the lake last year. ( tie them to a lump of brick and chuck them in), but they're already growing this year. Photos to follow when they do something more interesting.

Obs , take it easy on the knee.

Wonky, remember your friends when you're minted.

Dacha, your cold in Moscow is a dry cold . Ours is a wet, damp bone creaking cold! Wrap up!

Good morning.  Have just sent off that cooker and a dishwasher thrown in for good measure.  I now have some euros for my plant fund.   Set to be balmy from Sunday so I foresee a visit to the local nursery.  Not that I can get down n hands and knees but maybe some bending style weeding and planting.

Lots of cheery daffs and crocuses poking through and even flowering and the snowdrops have opened up.

Knees very tender and colourful but a lot less stiff and swollen than yesterday.  I know what you mean about the gym PP.

DL - damp cold penetrates more than dry cold I find and the grey makes it worse too.  Depressing rather than invigorating.

WW - I hope you get some good news for your own plant fund or other treats.

Steephill - have a memorable day.

Chicky - don't want to go to Paris again in the foreseeable but I do have Giverny in my sites for a trip to or from Possum in Namur.  The trick, apparently, is to stay nearby and get in early before the coaches arrive.

Giving up on the banjo Pat?  Nice to have a new toy tho.

Hosta - any special varieties?  They sound expensive to buy.

Busy - cooking Chinese tonight for NY.  There have to be prawns for good luck, long noodles for long life and some crispy duck pancakes cos we like them.   That and some fresh stir fried veggies should cover it for 2 of us.

Dove - not watching Olympics but OH is glued.  Enjoy but don't get so excited you mess up the knitting!

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Having a lovely morning listening to a Paul Simon CD ......... stuff we've known so long it's become part of our lives, but when you sit down and really listen you realise the genius of the man ... and for over forty years he's just gone on and on and one writing amazing poetry and music ... the news that he's going to finish touring will hopefully trigger a re-evaluation of his work ... I mean we've always known that he's good ... but actually he's one of the greatest singer songwriters ever .... image

I spend long car journeys "educating" Possum about proper pop music.  She has finally started acquiring her own Simon and Garfunkel CDs.    Graceland next and then Ladysmith Black Mambazo but not Miriam thing who was just embarrassing on the Graceland tour.
