It does look like that, yes. I’m always surprised especially by the look of Shirley poppies (which I hope will be in bloom soon) - they have such thin, translucent papery petals.
That's an impressive 'Danish flag' poppy, @pitter-patter ! Love your elegant Crazy Daisy and the white/pale pink poppy too (does it have a name?).
To celebrate today's French National Day I got some help from the following 3 flowers in my garden (from left to right):
Geranium Rozanne, Hydrangea paniculata PASTELGREEN and New Guinea Impatiens. I had to alter the colour of the G. Rozanne flower to make it match the real colour of the flag.
At the moment my Hydrangea paniculata PASTELGREEN is in full bloom, white going pale green.
And my angel's fishing rod (Dierama pulcherrimum) 'Lancelot' is in full bloom too. Seen here in the company of Clematis SAPHYRA Double Rose on the left and Syringa microphylla 'Superba' on the fight. An "all-pink" scene, I'm afraid.
