    I love this thread. My preference is always for photos which show the plant in its wider setting and ideally getting a broad sweep of the garden. I prefer such images to plant close ups which are reminiscent of plant catalogues.
    I love a close up  :D I like to see detail ha ha

    I like close ups because I want to know what things are. Purplerain, thanks for your Broad Sweep.

    Some of the hostas in their summer spot on the terrace ... they're really looking good this year ... so far  ;)

    @Dovefromabove, you're not alone.
    The consensus on the Hosta Society's FB page is that they're all doing well, perhaps due to the hard winter and a proper period of enforced dormancy.

    The variety on here is great. From hogweed's beautiful view and seat, [and borrowed view of those windows ;) and chicky's lovely Philadelphus [home grown!] to Chrissy's friend's garden, Alan's stunning cacti, and Dove's smart and sharp hostas. Terrific.
    My Niobe is always a favourite when she flowers.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
