    Tree peonies :-)

Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

I'm not a Peony fan but those colours are gorgeous - perhaps I will have a rethink!
A few pictures taken yesterday - everything is coming into flower at the same time - but still the grasses are one of my favourites.Scabious Butterfly Blue Beauty has been flowering for a month so far. Should I dead head or save the seed heads?Acer Dissectum, it's amazing how quickly this shrub changed from a twiggy, sickly looking skeleton into this and the leaves will turn red later in the year.My new 2 yr. old clematis Rebecca, I left 4 or 5 large buds on the new plant, whilst removing the rest since it is such a young plant. The flowers turn from bright red to deep during a very hot day like today.I can't remember the name of this pretty plant, we have it growing very successfully around the pond and in the bog garden.Geum Cooky, doing well in the bog garden and around the pond.Lastly a white miniature Hebe & Aubrietia Dr Mules - the bees are attracted to the Hebe big time!

Lots of colour, lovely pics guys😊

I wonder if your plant is a heuchera/ella GD? I have one with a similar leaf although I don't recall the flower.

You are clever with your pots JamesO. I think it belies the amount of work you must put in. If I'm allowed a favourite I'll say the orange and white tulips with the muscari🙂 Looking forward to the allium phase🤠

    Some pics from this weekend:

On the last of the daffs now, will miss all the yellow

This is Delibes, I probably have too many of similar shape and colour

These are new and lovely, Golden Echo. Have chosen a nice front of border spot for them next year, they deserve no less☺️

Bought these on a whim in a sale, will try and keep them for next year.

I'd like to take credit for this mix but I bought them as a ready-to-mix selection. Planted them myself though😐
    Wearside, England.

Lovely garden Victoria Sponge love the bridge in the garden guess there water flowing can't make it out in the pics the planting looks stunning around it.  Doing the bulbs not to much work as I now know from a few years back watching Monty you can do tulips into December planting as its a great task at the end of the gardening year I look forward to .  I keep the pictures and buy most online so have record of what looks good together and where it was brought from online and now I am narrowing down which tulips I prefer.

I’ve fallen in love with Eustaces tree peonies, absolutely stunning! I’m so impressed with all these photos, so much colour early in the season. Most of my garden only gets going properly from late summer onwards. Now I’ve seen what can be achieved earlier in the season, I’m going to make several changes. Some great planting ideas for me to try emulate too. Thank you!
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

I too have realised my garden is not a spring garden but this is only my second season here so this autumn I will spend some focussed time planning next spring.

Took a little tour around the garden this evening as it cooled to take some pics.

The slugs mustn't like little stones, very little damage. Thought I'd killed these off so was so happy to see the new leaves popping through.

The first of the alliums, so looking forward to the others going "pop".

Not sure what the white flowers behind are, inherited those.

Inherited bluebells, shame they aren't English, once died down these are being relocated.

    Still a few magnolia blooms.

    Geranium Phaem

    and Geum Sea Breeze

Can't wait for everything else to flower as now feel I've got the basic border structure right for summer colour.

Lovely. I think the white flowers are a different type of allium. I have them. They taste of garlic.

Thanks, I may keep some then and move them to a better area. They are currently under one of my palm trees, along with the bluebells and just look scruffy!
