    I know about recent stagnation in social mobility Dove.  It'll be even worse once this business of student fees kicks in to the statistics.  Crazy, short-sighted policy.  Labour govt wasn't it?  Clever Socialism at work - not.

    I rather like socialism Dove.  It's when it gets politicised and a capital S that brains stop working and it all goes wrong.

  • Totally agree Obs.  It's career politicians that screw it all up ........ all they want to do is be elected ... there's hardly any conviction politics any more.

    Never a truer word Dove.

    I used to drink at the same pub as Ken Clarke and although our politics could not be more different, I admire him because of his conviction and his life experience before entering politics. He is also a very entertaining man.

    Dove, that image looks familiar. It's a place called Hampi in Karnataka. We visited there some years ago.

    Papi Jo - I've been given a plant called Reine des Celtes but can't find any info on it.   Do you now it?

    All I get is stuff on Boadicea.

    @Obelixx,

    "Reine des Celtes" sounds like a fancy name. Might be "reine des prés" Filipendula ulmaria? Do you have a pic?

    Thing is, Papi Jo, I cleverly took the label from the pot to go and research the name and then more pots got added to that group and I have no idea which one it is now.   I've heard of reine des prés and grew it in Belgium near the pond where it was damp.  I have other donations with no name so we'll just have to wait and see what grows next spring and go from there.
