(Whispering) We think our newt might be a female great crested. We know that this would be a jackpot win and rare. She definitely has orange toenails and soles to her feet. She's still small yet and has a preferred spot on a shelf where we can reliably see her but we're toning down the evening visits to give her peace. <fingers crossed>
