I've just read in The Times that Tangoman Trump has a house for sale on St Martin which was reduced in price from $28m down to a mere $16.9m last month.
I bet it's worth less than that now.
"Mr Trump's own Florida home at Mar-a-Lago is also in the forecast path of Hurricane Irma"
Been thinking the same thing about Trump and the loons that voted for him. Can't feel sorry for any troubles the weather may bring them but do feel for all the ordinary folk and their animals, homes, gardens, livelihoods. I expect insurance companies see hurricane damage as "acts of God" against which they can't possibly pay up.
As for GW, apart from bending thin steel bars to make plant supports, I haven't learned anything new from MD since he took over GW but I live in hope and I do like to see the gardens visited and the bits with Carol Klein and Adam Frost and other experts. MD is articulate but I just don't trust his advice as his garden and experience are increasingly irrelevant to mine.
Seating on planes is just another way to make money. I see Ryanair is to ban cabin bags now as it delays loading and seating of passengers - not enough room in overhead lockers. Well, Doh!
We had rain of the kind where you can't count the raindrops yesterday and overnight. 12mm. Wonders will never cease.
Clari - hope you're feeling better for the weekend.
Chicky - enjoy your time with little Chicklet. This week will fly by.
Hi to everyone else and hope you're having a good day. I'm off to pack for my trip to Belgium. Going to my old garden group on Tuesday.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Hi folks, been back a few days now and have been busy washing and putting away clothes. Have managed to mow the lawns and tidy the garden a bit but it need a bit of a sort out if we do manage to get some dry weather.
I'm not going to start on about airlines as my blood pressure wouldn't cope.
Feeling cold and tired since I returned from holiday, can understand the cold but don't know why I'm so tired. But as others have said I shouldn't moan consider how many in the world are suffering at the moment.
Pat - you are still recovering form nasty bugs. Yvie seems to have become deeply relaxed by her holiday. Sleep well, don't fight it.
Our local reservoir is very low too and there are fields full of crisp brown sweetcorn which is not going to provide winter feed for the cattle. Some of the bigger, purely arable farms have those huge irrigation pipes and mobile sprayers but the local ones rotate cattle and crops and only pipe water to their beasts as it's too expensive. Been a hard year for them.

He'll need some Mexicans to build a different wall now....
Iain - it's taking pleasure in the small things that's important - particularly in these horrible times in the world. While we do that - counting our blessings is equally important. I try to do it as often as I can. Lovely to have your blackie family visiting. The coal tits have been busy here on the feeder, and the robin's been singing away while I've been gravel 'arranging' ()
Arran hills are looking bonny Joyce. I heard some wumman had to get rescued off Goatfell t'other day. Think she slipped. Just as well I didn't decide to go walking a bit later - there's a tailback from Glasgow airport to Erskine Bridge.
Are you and hubby feeling more chipper Pat?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I don't think he would miss the loot, Hosta.
He might not miss it, but I bet it'd stick in his throat to lose it and have everyone know about it.
Fingers crossed.

Me too Yvie. I could sleep round the clock lately.
Obelixx, we had the same amount of rain last night. The dams are still dropping.
