Good morning all.  Happy pastelling, Pat!

No blue skies here - but we've had a week of dry(ish) weather, which is usually our limit around here.  The slugs would be getting anxious if the "drought" lasted much longer...  It was cold last night under clear skies (6.3), and is definitely beginning to feel a bit autumnal with daytime temps only reaching the mid teens at best.  But the blackberries are great this year, juicy and largely maggot-free, and I made a big bowl of blackberry & apple yesterday using the fruit I'd picked on the way back from the shops in town.  Plus a couple of Bramley apples from the market.  image  The flavour always reminds me of happy times spent with my grandparents; blackberries grew in abundance around where they lived.

Best wishes to Dove for happy hols!  image

And to the rest of you, whatever today brings.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Good to see you LG.  Hope all is well.   Love the pots but not all of the plants.

OH has been picking wild blackberries for his breakfasts Liri.  We have them in the hedge and round the pond and along the lanes on walkies.  Small but plentiful and tasty.

    Afternoon all.

    Mild panic here.

I'm sure Dove said , earlier in the week, they'd arrive around 5.30. Did I  imagine that?

Just had a call: " we'll be there at 3.47"

Worse than that. I was in bed hoping to get a wee siesta after our marathon TV watching 'til the wee small hours.

    I've not even had a shave.image

Did they wave on the way past?

I've been AWOL today because I was playing with my pencils.image Great fun

We are still very much in the minus temps every morning. I think it was minus 7 today.  Sigh!

It is a good excuse to sit around inside though.  Our friend up the hill behind us said we had snow flakes this morning at about 8am, but I certainly wasn't up and about at that ungodly hour. In fact, he woke us both about 10.30 image.

I really must get to bed soon - it's after midnight once again. I've been pointedly yawning for the past hour, but I notice another episode of Jules Holland appeared on the TV. We'd already watched an episode with Paul McCartney, Neil Diamond, Alice Cooper and others. The trouble is that Hubby records them, so he can quicky flick to another episodes before I catch him at it.
