When you said smelly, Obelixx, I was imagining "gone off" - but that sounds yummy!
Lunch was bring and share so people had brought chicken, leek quiche, sausages and salads, then blackberry mousse, fruit cake, kiwi cheesecake and apple tart.
Just been watering the pots.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
P***ed off Dacha. That's the polite translation...
I'd just eat all those blackberries Clari
I went out and pottered, although it became a bit more than that. I haven't eaten much, and even all the foodie talk isn't getting me drooling. Feel I need to eat some dinner, but can't get excited about anything. Had a yogurt and some cornflakes earlier. I know how to live....
The leek quiche sounds tempting though BL
Lovely butterfly Liri. Your photos on the camera thread are really stunning.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Cheers PP......I thought I knew all Irish slang words ......
So Paddy arrives in London for the first time and goes into a Patisserie ......and says to the rather posh looking bloke .....'can I have a slice of that gatux please' ......the posh bloke says ' it's a gateaux young man" ......so paddy says 'OK I'll have a slice of the gateaux you bolleaux '
Fairy; I've been harvesting about 1kg blackberries every day. Even I can't eat that much!
Busy; funny you mention blackbirds. Since the everyone in the neighbourhood got cats we've had barely any birds in the garden. Even the militant hedge sparrows have gone. I had to throw away the seed in the feeders which were once refilled daily as it had sprouted.
Tonight we have pork shoulder slice with (homegrown) tomatoes, (homegrown) courgettes, (homegrown) roasted plums (not sure whether these are mains or dessert!), and... shop brought onions

I'm not even going to google scunnered .....I'd love to hear a rustic translation please

Number of plums ripe on my tree today: 20
Get munching everyone!! I had to leave the blackberry bushes today; my freezer can't take much more!

You obviously don't have blackbirds, Clary!

I think scundered is probably Ulster Scots. It's a common one up here, we're always scundered for one reason or another.
