Sounds good Dove. I'm sure they'll have a good time.
We've lamb rib roast on the menu tonight - don't know when it'll be ready though, he's still organising a problem on his bank account by phone With someone who can't believe that we don't have mobile phone reception in our valley (he is getting a bit loud).
Morning all/ afties Pat. Hope you've not been too chilly today.
chicky - my girls only know Robert Hardy from Harry Potter, and I was telling eldest last night that All Creatures was the must see programme back in the seventies. Brilliant actor.
Good to see you Liri - look forward to the pix of your hols, and to BL's Giverny ones too
Hope your wife is a little better today Dacha. Backs are a hideous problem. I'm used to my rubbishy one now, but I know how debilitating it is when they don't work.
Obelixx - I find a coat of white (or cream ) is the best method too, as Hosta said. It neutralises it all. Light grey would probably do it as well.
Congrtas to Wonks. Have a good time. Any cake?
Windy here too LP. Not sure if it'll stay dry today, although it did clear up nicely yesterday after the downpour in the middle of the day.
I'll have a quick look round before work. Friday again so soon....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Cheers fairy.......loved All Creatures.....had a big soft spot for Mrs. Hall (Mary Hignett) who reminded me of my dear old mum...always something going on in the kitchen
For those who loved All Creatures ... have you seen The Yorkshire Vet series on Channel 5?
http://www.channel5.com/show/the-yorkshire-vet/ I just love it ... it's James Herriot's old practice ... one of the partners was trained by him, with real life characterful Yorkshire farmers and folk and their animals ... cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, iguanas, alpacas and parrots ... the whole lot. The vets are just lovely ... as a farmer's daughter and former smallholder the whole programme is compulsive viewing in this house. Love it.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
A little trivia re Robert Hardy. When they lifted the Mary Rose , back in the day, Robert Hardy was the guy they called in to check out the Tudor long bows. He was considered THE expert on the subject.
I desperately need to cut the grass , but , guess what, it's been chucking it down again this morning.
Afties Pat. I have the same problem here with mobile signal. People say useful things like "oh I'll just leave you a voicemail then". THERE IS NO SIGNAL!!! You can't phone me and your text would arrive quicker if you walked here with it!
Loved Robert Hardy, RIP, really REALLY loved the Herriot books but (sorry to be controversial) thought RH was totally miscast as Siegfried. With the result I only watched a couple of episodes.
I read the books in my teens and re-read them last Summer and laughed and cried just as hard as I did first time. A brilliant work of observation.
The Yorkshire Vet is well worth a watch. Gentle and funny and kind. Steve Leonard once said about being a vet "people don't care how much you know, they need to know how much you care".
Enjoy your Friday.
Hi HF. Missed you there. I read that yesterday too. Who knew??
Hubby got a letter from Vodafone, his call plan is going from £17 something + VAT a month to £24.40 + VAT a month.
He called them, explained he never used the 600 free minutes he already has, never sends text messages , and , as he doesn't have a smart phone, need 8Gb of data , so why were they changing his plan. ( He actually asked " What is 8 gee bee of data?" Bless 'im.)
Result, they're reducing his call plan to £15 a month including VAT.
I paid £9.99 for a mobile phone just before we moved here 6 years ago and put £10 of credit onto it. I've added £5 Since then.

Good lucks with Mrs D's back.

It's bright and dry here Hosta, but so windy I'm wondering whether the runner bean poles can possible stay upright ...
