Nice shots, @wild edges . Bravo!
That was too easy, capturing dizzy Bombylius specimens in your GH. And I won't say anything about the gardener's manicure used as a lure. ;)
Never seen this kind of green tiger beetle. "...they may return and I'll be more prepared next time". Yes, "Be Prepared" should be your motto.

Day off today, so was in the garden and noticed a male Orange tip fluttering around:

Ab out 30 minutes later a potential mate arrived:

but by that time the male had gone.  Let's hope they get together! ❤ 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

I love seeing the Orange tips in spring 💕

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • I'd love to see an Orange tip whatever time of year it is - are they just local to your areas?

Just snapped this fella near the pond. I think it’s a cramp ball fungus weevil and it’s rather cool!

I hadn’t either and looked it up- it’s conservation status is Nationally scarce B... so I feel very honoured!

Noticed an unusual bee, looked it up and think it was a female Common mourning bee (Melecta albifrons), which is a solitary 'cuckoo' species:
