I peaked too soon with my insects of the day today. My wistful tortrix was quickly knocked into second place by this lovely Foxglove Pug (Eupithecia pulchellata)...
which was in turn knocked off the top spot by a pair of pale tussock moths that I almost didn't notice as it was getting dark and they'd picked the perfect spot to show off their camouflage. I hope they lay eggs here as the caterpillars look amazing. My 66th moth species.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
