@wild edges Any chance you might ID that bumblebee on my 'blue note' Salvia? Thanks!

I would say it's a common carder bee.

That would be my guess but I wouldn't rule out one of the other two carder species unless they're not known from your area. They're a tricky group to tell apart at the best of times.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Carders are the ginger mod rockers of the bee world.

Crawling across my patio. Not near water. Any ideas?

Two small moths from this evening. Don’t really know what they are, but the first one made me laugh.
A tortrix moth, probably a Light Brown Apple Moth (Epiphyas postvittana) but the markings are very variable and that would be a pretty pale one. And a mint moth (Pyrausta aurata) which has the decency to be very distinctive.

It's possibly a common damsel bug but a bit hard to tell sorry. https://www.britishbugs.org.uk/heteroptera/Nabidae/nabis_rugosus.html

An assortment of bugs on a self-seeded antirrhinum. White is a good backdrop!
    ID?

    In London. Keen but lazy.
