Amazing WE. Incredible that you can find track down the IDs, alone.

This is a mini bee, about the size of my small thumb nail.

Tiny bees drive me crazy. There's a few that are easy to ID with a good photo but most are too fast to even focus on. I've got a really good book to work from but there's 60 pages of mining bees alone and they mostly look very similar. And don't get me started on hoverflies...  This year I might stick to working out my slug diversity. At least they sit fairly still.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

As you can see from the picture we woke up to all these dead Nymph skins my OH fished them out and we can't explain, can you?. There are still Nymphs swimming around along with our Newts, last year we had 32 Dragonflies emerge from our little pond great as we sat and watched many of them crawl out and change, so special .But if it's related at all our Frog turned up yesterday as well. any thoughts with our nature/wildlife conossieurs ? . Thanks

I can't really see but is it just the exuviae left behind after the nymphs turn into dragonflies?

A family of spiderlings hatched on my wheelie bin today,  and as spiders are honorary insects, here they are! Photographed at x2, with 8 images stacked.

I love seeing all your wonderful photos and need to try and find time to add photos of the wonderful little beasties that frequent my Italian garden. They are mostly welcome apart from the 'orrible stink bugs ...
