A Red-legged Shieldbug? on my chard.

Sorry, not great pics as i was using my phone.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Not the best of all pictures before the dog scared it off but had this fella land in the garden this afternoon. Not too sure what it is.

Have a lot of these in the garden this year.

When it opens to fly the lower wings are orange.

That explains it,  there are a lot of foxglove this year, it seems the moth likes them.😀

I'm almost ashamed to post wasp photos now but is anyone good with social wasp IDs? I can't find a good fit for this one anywhere. It's got a crown shape on the face and yellow base sections to the antennae. The closest I can find is the Saxon wasp Dolichovespula saxonica but it doesn't quite fit the other photos I can find. There were only two or three around today but they were loving that white flower in the second photo. They don't sit still for long but I got one to sit on my finger long enough for this photo.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Wild marjoram was alive with bees today but no butterflies at all. I grow it for the butterflies. I suppose it's the cold weather
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Fantastic photos @poppyfield64, I especially like the orb spider!

Dragonfly? Resting on the top of a 7ft obelisk so a bit blurry:

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
