  This is my clematis Montana, Elizabeth. As it had grown so big and covered the 10 foot square pergola I gave it a radical haircut immediately after flowering. I cut it right back to the main stems about 3 inches in diameter and now it is bigger than it was before.

  Thank you for showing us those photographs Suesyn. It's given me the confidence to give mine a much needed prune after flowering next year.
