Burnt grass after using weed and moss killer

First things first is patience; something you will learn as you get more experience and something we have all fallen victim of.

Leave it AT LEAST two weeks, longer if you can, and aerate it with a garden fork. Then get some grass seed  and lightly sprinkle it over the lawn. Don't be tempted to think the more the better it is often best to apply lightly and reapply a month later if you have bare areas. DO NOT ADD FERTILISER; the grass will be too young to cope with it (think feeding a baby the protein powders muscle builders at the gym use after a work out) and the ground will be well fed already. If you have a lot if birds in the garden lightly sprinkle compost over the seeds to stop the birds eating all the seeds.

Now the hard part; while this grass is establishing itself you need to do everything you can to not walk on it; that includes children playing and dogs. Annoying being that it's summer but the lawn will reward you if you do.

Lightly water with a sprinkler every night if you don't get rain.

The first time you cut it, if you have an adjustable lawn mower use the highest setting.

Don't expect quick results. At best you're looking at eight - twelve weeks. But it'll be worth it.

    Good luck!

Oh: and for your rusty slabs. Remember if you can't get it off like any teenager that spilt a drink on the sofa; you can always flip them over!

I'm guessing that the 'rust' spots are a reaction of one of the components of the treatment with water.  If it's any consolation I have the same problem with some of the slabs set into my lawn.  I meant to go down and sweep the fertiliser off them  but never got round to it.  Then it rained.....  'rust spots' which will probably fade over time but I haven't managed to get rid of them yet.

Hi , I was just wondering how your grass is doing , I put moss and weed killer on my lawn last Tuesday and went black then on Friday I gave it all a good raking and put top soil and grass seed down and I'm making sure I'm watering it , and then it should start growing
