We had awful, torrential rain last night (around 12" in 3 hours), much flooding and school business delays this morning. Much lightning, high winds also. I thought my 3 moringas would be goners for sure. One suffered leaf damage, one has all leaves going yellow. I'll probably lose those two and have to plant out two replacements from my 7 total I seeded. One, however, came through it all unscathed.
I want to keep mine pruned low for easier leaf/bean pod harvesting but I may stick one tree in my back Small Garden on the sunny end and let it get tall just to see how that looks. I don't have enough sunny spots in my back Big Garden to put one there, or I would. All sunny spots are "spoken for" with yet-to-be-delivered nursery orders. They are a curiosity to me and I'm looking forward to seeing their rapid growth and finding out if we like the taste of the greens and beans they produce in a few years.
Since I soaked mine between wet paper towels in a saucer first, they produced their white roots in about 7-8 days (with nicking along the seed ridge). When the visible roots were 1/3" long, I moved them to dirt and they popped up their shoots above ground in another week or so. I think if you have unearthed and nicked them now, they will germinate. Just keep them pretty damp/wet until you see a seedling.
I hope yours are good seeds, too, Torg22. I've planted out 3 and one is about 9" tall. We had a cold snap and I lost the other two. But I still have 4 in pots out back I can plant soon. Will wait a bit longer though.

Hi Peggy. How long did your seeds take to germinate? Mine have been in soil for over 2 and a half weeks now without any sign of life..
I forgot to nick them so unearthed half of them this evening to remove the seeds from the shells. Perhaps i will have more luck now?!

Thanks Peggy, I will see how mine get on now. Hopefully I haven't been provided with a dodgy batch of seeds!

Hi could you please tell me which seller you got the Moringa tree seeds from of ebay.
I bought the seeds from Chiltern seeds. Best sow indoor first.
