What happened, Redwing? I've noticed the poster called 'ayms' has gone, as they posted a lot in a thread I read regularly - the one about planting seeds for 2017.
Redwing - that person has gone because she flagrantly broke posting rules - see Terms and Conditions. Others have followed in sympathy or solidarity. Who knows?
Anyone who endorses that behaviour is no loss to boards like these.
As Chloe and Nut say, let's move on. Plenty of people here to share knowledge, advice, opinions, experiences and photos along with some good natured banter in the Potting Shed.

I do think that is a little bit tough Obelixx. Imo I don't think the posting was about nastiness, more about some neuroses and problems at home. It's a shame, because gardening is supposed to help people in times of trouble.
I may well have missed a swathe of insulting posts but I am sure that those involved will know what went on and I would hope they might have a little think.
Anyone is a loss to a gardening board, but then I am one of those gardeners who never gives up on an ailing plant.
Daisy, these boards are faceless and anonymous and very lightly moderated. They are free to use by anyone and all that is asked is that people follow the basic rules of politeness without prejudice, bullying or name-calling or worse.
Having seen the tone of many of her posts over recent months I too suspect there was a lot of neurosis involved but I'm not qualified to judge with any certainty. I do know, having seen it, that her behaviour last weekend was unacceptable and uncalled for and verging on the irrational. There is no excuse for the kind of personal attacks she indulged in.

Thanks all for your comments. I missed all the nastiness. Just noticed four long early morning angry posts by Ms Bargain Hunt that were quickly removed and subsequently her account also disappeared (along with personal attack private message to me). I guess she's been banned. There was more to it as other people stopped posting too.
I like reading other people's points of view; I don't always agree but like that other people have a different take on things and sometimes I learn something new.........it's called tolerance, I think.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
I subscribe to a message board patronised by ex-BBC Points of View contributors and from a few other boards. Joining is by invitation only, whereas on most boards anyone can join.
There aren't many people on that board but I bet it comes as no surprise that although there is a named moderator. They've never had to do any moderating. Everyone is well behaved.
Isn't that a bit like the Groucho Marx quote "PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER."
A club where membership is by invitation only is likely only to have like minded people in it. Therefore there is little likelihood of discord. If such a club needs moderating something has gone seriously wrong with the vetting process.
It also seems you may have hit the nail on the head by use of the term 'patronised' for its membership

Actually I will miss the poster who took the most glorious photos, it's a shame.
Give credit where credit is due.

Thanks Obelixx. I was curious because I had no idea what had taken place. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Exactly, the behaviour was totally irrational so it was sad that more mature, stable posters did not recognise this.
I trust if a poster implodes like this again that some empathy and common sense will be shown and I hope that this poster is alright.
