I haven't been to look at mine to see if they've appeared yet. I'm not sure there's anything sprouting yet - they're in a pot and I haven't noticed, but that may be becasue I haven't looked properly.
Nature allows things to speed up or slow down according to the changing weather, so don't worry too much sevbrown. They'll still flower - enjoy them - whether it's a bit early or at the usual time
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
They are hardy in pots or boarders. Obviously, an early show of flowering, could be affected by a ground frost As my asiatic llilies they are not due to flower until early June, they will be ok. Unless we get a period of warm weather now, they should flower as per the species
Im not sure my poor lilies will make it afterall, my own little 'ironman' decided to use the raised bed as his blast off point this morning and has squashed a fair few stems. Hopefully there are still some hiding underground away from stompy 4 year old wellies
just checked all my lilies, all are growing and showing 2 or 3 ins above compost as it's been warm and sunny, should I cover them a bit higher as it's supposed to be getting colder again? also i have them in mpc with grit, should i add something different, also I may have too many in smallish pots, is it too late to repot any? thanks v much in advance
Hello Pink lily and Peter T, I am about an hour south of Glasgow and noticed to day all about an inch above surface level. They are in pots and have been sheltered ?
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Mine are now up to 20" tall. I'm hoping it'll be a repeat of last year's surprisingly tall 6' lilies.
I notice a few have disappeared though, so I don't know what happened to the bulbs over winter. But there are new ones, where I assume old bulbs have split into two plants.

West Midlands, and mine are 4 or 5 inches tall (asiatic lilies) in pots.
I want to get them out of their pots and into the ground, can I do this now? Or should I wait until after they have flowered?
Pat.
