Dove, what have you done??!! That's lovely.  I don't need, can't cope with any more. Where can I get it? No, don't tell me......

hogweed, it's not a competition. Well, not for me anyway.

Some are , to say the least " a bit more competitive " than I.

So long as you love your garden and your plants, it doesn't matter if someone has more  ,  or less.

Some of us have more room to play with, some have less.

    Devon.

    Daniel

they look great.  Are they all good cutting dahlias?

  • How long do the tubers take to produce shoots.  I planted my newly shop bought tubers two weeks ago in a cold greenhouse and so far there is nothing showing above soil level.  I am not sure how often to water them. What would you recommend?

  • I dont use them as cut flowers but most would be good for cutting, not sure about duet tho.

And Guernsey Donkey some of mine have sprouted and they took about 4 weeks but they shouldn't be too long depending on temperatures. plus only water about once a week maybe longer don't overwater them.

Just above dry would be my advice , until they start growing strongly.

You see them shoot in packs in garden centres when they're bone dry. They don't need water to break their dormancy.

  • Right, I had better hold fire on the watering then - it is so dull here although fairly mild - I don't want to over water them - thanks for the advice Hostafan & Daniel.  I have Bishop of Llandaff & one other type whose name escapes me - both single flowered.
