We use the local Green Thumb franchise as well and have been very pleased with the results.

There are much better fertilisers on the market than what they use, and they do a great deal of aeration and scarify jobs during the depths of winter which is almost a total waste of time. I continue to get new work from ex GT customers, so it suits me just fine!

This thread is a year old but never mind..

At my previous property I used an equivalent of Green Thumb. Well worth the money IMO.

Had a contract for 4 visits a year (£30 a time) for application of weed / moss killer / lawn feed as appropriate. For the first few visits they came back (FOC) to check whether the treatments had worked or needed a top up treatment. They also did a couple of scarification / aeration treatments for us.

In less than a year they transformed a weedy, mossy, mud patch into a proper lawn.

The cost of the chemicals alone (from a GC) would have been more than the cost for the treatments - and, of course, I didn't have to lift a finger to apply them.

We had new turf put down at this property last year & I'm seriously considering using them again to keep the lawns in tip top condition.

If I had a grassed area/lawn I would definitely use the services of them, the reports and cost seem very reasonable.

I know, I can hardly climb 3steps up a ladder! or walk up the street, so I do have help.but not in my garden (topping trees I have help with)

I know quite a lots of people who had dealing with GT , some really like them others think they are over priced and not so good. It does work out cheaper buying the chemicals / fertiliser your self, The main problem people have though is putting it down the stuff evenly.
Problems I've come across with GT is over fertilising causing surge growth - over scarification bare lawn with no grass someone I know still waiting for half of her lawn to show any signs of life , the dry weather not helping in that department. I don't know if its a one off but  come across them not removing the core which have been removed. They do get the lawn a lovely dark green , I don't know how much they cost but £16 a visit what others have said doesn't sound to bad to me.

Still using them and still happy.  Never get those horrible black patches that I used to get when I used a certain 4 in 1 lawn application.  They have put their price up by £1.00 a visit but still good value for money. IMHO

There are local experienced lawn firms run by experts who will do much better work than an employee of a businessperson who has bought a franchise and needs to see each van turn £500-800 a day!

Googling their reviews tells you all you need to know!

Has anyone heard of greensleeves lawn care? My work colleague has had similar treatment as GT and his lawn looks amazing. Pays per treatment as GT. I was thinking of getting a quote but will see how competitive they are with with GT.

This is his lawn! 2 years worth of lawn treatment.
