As pjones7894 mentions, I have also corrected many lawns that Green Thumb/Other similar companies have worked on. It does always depend on the individual who assesses the lawn, and whether they feel capable enough to get it back to health. I have also seen many lawns that they have worked on which look fantastic!
I don't believe there is a lawn that cannot be improved, the above pictures show the progress of a lawn over 6 weeks during one Spring several years ago. As everybody has mentioned, regular raking, mowing, re-seeding where required and feeding at appropriate times will improve any lawn.
But the lawn in the first post is one that doesn't green up instantly with GT's chemicals. Therefore is not a great reflection on their company if they take it on, and it comes with a high risk of the customer complaining. They were quite right to say no.
A Greenthumb lawn looks lovely and lush, but it relies heavily on continued regular chemical treatments. The rootzone is not one that's strong enough to keep the lawn healthy on its own. So as long as you're happy to pay them every season then fine.
I prefer the long game, and always make sure people's lawns are healthy, with minimal Nitrogen application. Some even allow me to keep some weeds/clover etc for wildlife!
No they are rip offs do not use them they go one course and think they are experts I have been a green keeper For 35years and still learning they will keep take your money on top of money
The long game is always. The best way to go hard and hard work pays for the best results and long lasting results not cemical on top of cemical treatment Let nature work and good food depaendening
