I've just discovered them!

They grow in the shade and slugs don't eat them. What's not to like!

Two questions:

Can you grow them hot and dry as well as damp and shady?

Can you recommend some gooduns?  I've no idea what my new best friend is called.

In London. Keen but lazy.

I didn't think they liked damp and shady. The few I've grown have been hot and dry

I've known them put up with damp and shady Nut, but I've found that they're happier and perform better with sunshine image

Never heard of them being grown in damp and shade, I'm pretty sure they like as much sun as you can give them and don't over water. I've never had an issue with slugs, one of the main reasons I brought them. My favourite so far is electric blue

Lovely varieties mentioned above. They don't survive winter in my clay soil so take cuttings if you have wet soil.
