I suggest regular patrols with a good quality strimmer or brush cutter and then rake it up.

Although to be absolutely honest I kept ponies for quite a few years and many of my friends have kept horses and ponies all their lives, and the only weeds we've ever ensured that we removed from their pasture was ragwort, and there's never been a problem.

  • ok  ,ive never had lords n ladies in any yards ive been at before, but this field has loads all over it ,so even if tey grassing grass there will b a lord n ladie not far from them grassing ,so I'm in concern of this as it is poisonous to ponies ,also I'm not a great gardener but always look after my own garden and all my pony paddocks ,as I'm digging these up will they still come bk as big next yr ? also as I'm cutting off the tops will that same  bulb grow again this yr ? ? sorry I'm a pain ,I'm just so tired of these horrible plants :(

If you keep cutting the plants off at ground level they'll eventually run out of steam and become weaker and weaker - but I agree, it's a PITA.  As I said - I'd strim them off as they appear and rake the leaves up.

    Good luck.
