Now, when the sun is shining. Add a little washing up liquid to the weed killer. It makes it stick to the leaves. Yes weed killer will kill grass and any other green plants too.

They really are a pain. I go round my borders twice a week hoeing off the tops.
I can't spray really as they come up almost anywhere - often amongst established plants image and they keep coming well into summer

Yes weedkiller will kill the grass I'm afraid - as to suggestions the strongest stuff you're likely to be able to get is Rosate36, it's very powerful and is the strongest safest product I'm aware of. It will kill anything green you spray it on, so if you use it, don't have a mist spray or you'll kill everything around, turn the nozzle so you get little droplets and use on a calm day. Rosate36 is stronger version of Roundup.

The bigger the leaves the more it will soak up, so wait until the leaves unfurl

Arum maculatum is listed as being poisonous to horses.

Last one is definitely Arum maculatum. One before that is Narcissus aka Daffodils. Before that, more Arum and before that could well be Dock. First one has some Arum in it as well.

There are weed killers which may be used on grass, however many of them contain amino-pyralids which are very persistent weed killers. They get into the grass and are digested by the horse (no apparent harm to the animal), but the stuff is still active in the droppings so you cannot use the horse manure as a fertiliser.

  • thank you what was 2 please from start :) x
