I have a visitor with quite distinctive colouring when compared to the more "normal" ones.
    Normal colour

    Darker colour

I have seen no hedgehogs in my garden since August 2018 after many years of several every night  :(
The hog house is still in position waiting for any sleepy visitors.Food and water always provided.
When I had my new gate re-positioned I had a hog hole incorporated and because there is now a step I have put up a ramp.
Just wondering if the current lock-down and less cars about may help the hedgehog population?
    I live in hope anyway!

You've certainly done everything to make them welcome @madpenguin !
Do you know if there are any in the area ?

Don't give up hope, they are pretty mobile. We had families in the garden for years and years. Nothing changed, but one year I stopped hearing them at night and seeing the little presents they leave behind. They were gone for a couple of years and I often wondered if I had done something wrong, the habitat was still there for them and no major changes in the garden. Definitely back now though, plenty of poopy evidence around our pond this spring. :)

I believe someone a few roads away saved some baby hogs last year so must be around!

I have a dedicated bucket, scraper and brush for cleaning up hoggy poop from the patio!
Hope they come back as I really miss them.

We made a lovely Hog House last autumn.  No takers.  It sits there, devoid of any sign of habitation all through the winter.  I thought we would have had one - we were feeding three visitors each night last summer.
Last night I saw a hog ambling up the garden path!  where s/he has been overwinter I have no idea, but am chuffed to bits to see one again.
Food and water already there.  I'll keep a sharp eye open to see if we get more than this one.

My hog house has had a hog walk in, but no one stays in it.

Managed to get a (bad because it's a photo from my trail camera) photo of both hogs at once 😁

The one that came out of the hog feeding station stopped and pooped,  dont know if that is territory marking. And there is alot more poop around the garden. Haven't seen them eating together yet.
