  • It makes my blood boil the way some people treat wildlife as a disposable item, no heart no thinking through their selfish and thoughtless actions, like putting down slug pellets and then complaining about the mess of slime not to mention the poor thrush or hog that will eat the dead slugs. Why aren't these products banned, why aren't people taught to respect what is around them - I feel as strongly as you @NannaBoo and admire your courage to speak out - someone has to.

  • Hexagon We don't see foxes round here in the day time it's always after dark and a cat would have done more damage and not gone for the face but found a softer place like underneath. I didn't put the note through his door I put it on the lawn by the hedgehog so he would look at the state of the poor thing. Heaven know how much pain the poor thing must have been in if it had dragged itself to where I found it. He did however admit to not being able to see much as it was getting quiet dark his words not mine.

Slug pellets were banned but unfortunately the ban was lifted after the manufacture challenged it. Such a shame.

I haven't used slug pellets for about 20 years or more. One reason is we had the boys and because of the wildlife.

Just finished making a hibernating hog house from house bricks and 2 roof tiles for the roof and leaves on top. Barley straw for bedding and going to put leaves outside.
Can just see the plastic tunnel.

  • Is the tunnel big enough? My hoggies might have trouble getting in that, unless the photo makes it look small.😁

  • Has anyone used pre-formed swallow/house martin nest boxes - the type that fit onto the eaves or gutters of houses or on walls?  I am tempted to buy a couple to fit under our guttering
