  • The Shady Bank is smothered with Cyclamen hederifiolium Alba seedlings. If anyone wants some I can bring a trowel full in a takeaway carton.

  • Hmm ... forecast for Thursday does look a bit grim - there's a gale warning!

C'mon Dove - you know it's par for the course.

We organise an outing and the met office issue a severe weather warning... I think it's happened every trip I've been on image - even the one to East Ruston in July (severe thunderstorms forecast for that day!).

Maybe I should just stay home wrapped in a woolly blanket...imageimage

Seriously though. Maybe we should either cancel or reschedule.

You're going to have quite a long drive if you're going to Ickworth via Wonky's and that won't be nice if it's very windy with debris and lorries blowing around.

Also, last time there were very high winds (& the amber gale warning boundary is very close) Ickworth park was closed at very short notice for safety reasons. It then remained shut for a day or so while they made sure all the trees were safe to walk under.

Bearing in mind the snowdrop walk is through woodland....image

  • Hmm that was my thought - the Nat Trust are a bit wary of such things following the tragedy at Blicking the other year.

Lets see what Wonky says ... I could always walk around her garden and admire her snowdrops ... She doesn't charge an entrance fee and she bakes good cakes ...

I would love to join you. I could meet you there on Thursday at 2pm but no earlier as I'm working a night shift the night before. I wouldn't be able to make Saturday or Sunday.

I only live in Haverhill which is about 15 to 20 minutes drive.

  • Giddy - it'd be great if you could join us - we'll make a decision later today as to when we're going. I'll send you a PM with my mobile number then if we're on you can contact us when you arrive image
