    Hi Logan,

I used to a grow lots of fruit and veg in my garden in Croydon. I had a couple of v.bid raised veg patches and a big blackberry bramble and lots of raspeberries which began to shoot up all over the place!! I had far too much for just me.

Then i got married and moved to Leyton.. at the moment I love just growing lots of herbs and some chillies as that's what I use nearly everyday in the kitchen! If we're blessed enough to have children then I think I'll begin growing some veg again, so they know where all their food comes from!!

These days you can get raspberries that stay small and are suitable for containers: I have Ruby Beauty on my patio and it is perfectly happy in a pot. I'm also going to grow Lubera's blackberry Summerlong, which apparently grows upward, so you can grow it in one square metre, tied to a pole. (That's what Lubera's website says, I haven't personally tried it.)

I grow a lot of blueberries and raspberries in pots, thornless blackberries in garden, but they don't take over the whole garden.image

  • Love the show - really loved both gardens in this episode.  Well done - I hope to learn from you guys!

  • My bike store got vetoed!
Jake and I get to veto what happens in the garden. Jake became a gardener as work progressed and like the garden more than having a space for my bikes. It was a costly change as we'd spent £3k on the steps to get into the garden - and they were designed to accommodate my "29er" bike which is very large.
The tea house idea was actually Monty's. And I wasn't keen on it. It seemed a little out of sorts. What wasn't in the final edit was us saying that we didn't want to have a theme park. So having a tea house that was used for storage felt a bit like that. Which he understood.
I am thinking of putting a traditional Japanese arbour there. It looks somewhat like a bus stop made of wood, but will allow us to sit out in the rain and listen to the raindrops hitting the ferns and pond.
As for the tea house idea? Well, if you watch the earlier series you'll hear Monty suggest it at least one other time. I think he secretly wants one himself! Maybe his Dream will come true!

image Well, that was brilliant!  Two smashing gardens there, well done Tariq and Ant, and many years of enjoyment, hard work and garnering of experience to look forward to.

Ant....where's the tea-house/bike store?  Hope you get that eventually! image  I like the way the stepping stones through the Zen gravel garden make people slow down as they walk through it. Lovely.

It would be lovely to see photos of your gardens as they grow and develop, so I'm sure everyone will look forward to those.

Where will you keep your bike? Could there be some overhanging roof at the back to put it under?

Maybe you have to be logged in to Twitter to get it. I don't want to do Twitter. Photos here would be great.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
