Thank you both of you for the kind comments on the pond, looking at this thread I'm always thinking wish mine was like that or I wish I had that there are so many great thing to see, learn and be inspired by on here.

Fairygirl I started the pond in December 2014, I had a small lawn there before which I put in when I moved in in 2012 but never really liked it much so thought why not a pond which will hopefully bring wildlife in and let me try new plants, its amazing how quickly things do grow and how much wildlife ends up in there, its really relaxing sitting out there when its a bit warmer of course. Here are a few photo's below from when I was creating it.

    Your pond is lovely, Chris.

A lot came out in the garden while we were away in England last week.

Oh bother, there is a problem either with the site or with Internet, photos won't post. I wonder if they will copy and paste instead. No they won't, but 2 have appeared.

Very cheerful viola/pansy trough BL.  Your flower beds are coming to life now with the spring growth.

  • The pond pictures are fascinating, and show the varying stages and the final stage looks wonderful, so natural looking.

I too love the trough of pansies Busy, they make a great impact.  Pansies are such pretty flowers and so colourful too.

I love the pond photos and the various stages Chris, I'm hoping to build one next year (but am a bit clueless!) and photos like that will really help me!

Everyone's flower photos are wonderful too.  I've not got any crocuses in my garden (as it's fairly new) but will amend that next year.  I grew some pansies from seed, but they don't look anything like BL's!!.

You've grafted really hard Chris and it shows. Amazing how quickly you can get a pond looking established if you think about the planting carefully image

I'm quite worried about you getting knocked off that bench when someone comes in the gate though....image

How is your pond doing GD?

Lovely pix of your garden, as always,  BL. image

You'll get plenty of help if you're making a pond Sandra. Lots of us have them - in all shapes and sizes, so don't be frightened to ask for tips and advice when you start it. We used to have quite a lot of threads with various pix, so you could also try doing a search by using the option at the top of the page.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
