That makes a big difference then. I couldn't find mention of that when I looked.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • I have just taken a look at Peter nyssen aym, and there certainly is an impressive range of plants, dahlias and others at very reasonable prices, but the post & packaging price of £19.00 for the Channel Islands is ridiculous and so unfair. I will take a look at Rose Cottage - fingers crossed for a more realistic p&p charge.

Aym280 you're very welcome. I've branched out into smaller nurseries and off the track places. I had some really horrendous deliveries from the so called top supplier last year. Mouldy, rotten and completely dead on arrival. I'm still siting out refunds and replacements now. I bought from other suppliers and smaller companies and the plants were so much better and well packed. So this year the big lot are out and trying new places  is in.

Good on you for the loud dahlias, should find you on  satellite maps this year then. ?

Thats a bit of a pain with the p&p Guernsey, hope you find a better deal.

Rose Cottage Plants have 217 different types of Dahlia, surely something for everyone.

No they don't pay me, but I do think they are excellent.

How can you lie there and think of England

I do hope everyone will post pictures of the plants they've ordered once they're in bloom! image

  • You guys are making me feel very guilty with your dahlia talk. I got bored of mine last year and left all the tubers lying around the garden to rot into the soil. Still get a pang when I catch sight of one lying in the mud, slug chewedimage

I've used Rose cottage for spring bulbs several times and think they are quite reasonably priced.

I've made two orders with companies who make spring deliveries. It's good because you don't have have to pay straight away and can keep adding to your order if you have no self control. Asters, centaurea, campanula and hesperantha on the list and looking at some heleniums and white eupatoriums.image
