New garden, mostly long grass and weedy gravel. All that is in flower now are the pansies I have in pots around the front door, a mahonia in another pot and some cyclamen in a pot with a camellia. The 3 hamamelis I brought with me are just about opening a few flowers.
That will change soon as the newly planted bulbs come up and the snowdrops I brought with me get going. There's a mimosa that will burst into flower as soon as we get a bit warmer. Anything else is a wait and see but there are only shrubs and long grass until we get some new beds dug and plant the treasures I brought with me and those I have yet to sow and grow.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Happy New Year to everyone - thought I'd join the count. Nothing out of the ordinary flowering here in my garden. Yesterday was the first day I've managed outdoors since festivities began. I am glad to return to some sort of normality. I've lots of jobs that still need doing and my pond remains a big whole in the ground. Birds though are appreciating the water collecting in the bottom.
My Hamamelis (H. x intermedia Jelena) began flowering back in October. It usually does but for some strange reason the blooms were yellow. However, normal service has resumed and blooms are now the colour they should be.
Helleborus niger Josef Lemper was flowering for Christmas Day, blooms not perfect by a long shot but those white flowers really stand out at the top of the garden.
Two plants known for their scent, unfortunately my nose can never detect either of them.
Lastly an obligatory winter flowering Jasmine on the trellis in the sunny front garden.
I am going to study and take notes of some of the plants you all have flowering. I have vouchers burning a hole in my pocket!

I forgot my front garden! Not that much is flowering, but anyway:
Bergenia
A different viburnum (I really should find out what I've got)
Next door's winter jasmine, which is as much in my garden as theirs, has been a picture for the past couple of weeks.
Just got back from walkies and found a lone pink flowering - dwarf dianthus and very pretty.
