I thought 8 + 1 in the photo, think I was feeding about 20... It's mild at the moment so I'm not seeing that many. 🐦

The pidgeon head emoji turns into the above little red bird...

Edit, sorry if anyone saw that line of emoji's, I was seeing what some of the others turned into.

  • Your probable right Vic its a bit like one of those puzzles where you have to spot how many differences you can find  :) I will have another go.

  • Hey Gardengirl, no flooding has occurred happily, this is it's second winter and I've dug all the trenches I want to now, so hopefully it's cured. There was standing water elsewhere on the plots last year but I got away with it 😉 I'm still working on raising the soil levels which was phase 2 of the anti flood plan but am happy that it hasn't flooded (yet) and I haven't sent the water onto another plot.

Hampshire Hog, I'd say it's easier to count blackbirds when they're bouncing around but I don't think it is🤔

What type of Eryngiums are those Victoria?
edited to add... Ive just found the spikey ones in google images. Very different to my bog standard ones.

  • Hi Lyn, nice to see you  :)

The one at the back is pandanifolium Physic Purple, on the right venustum and left eburneum.

Not all eryngium do well in my garden, at least the smaller fancy coloured ones, but I've had agavifolium and yuccifolium doing well for a few years now in heavy and sometimes very wet soil so thought I'd try some different types in the same area. (And hope for the best).

I hope the trip to the emergency Vets ended ok
  • That's nice of you to ask GWRS  :) Thank you

My cat Juba had a reaction to his annual vaccine. He was already at my vets but due to new year I had to take him to an emergency vet so he could stay on fluids and be monitored. Brought him home yesterday morning and he is eating better and can walk properly again, still a bit lethargic.

It never rains does it?
