Nice cold frame Peter You will find it very useful when the seedlings start to take over the windowsills but are still too small to survive outdoors without protection from the elements.
Good advice from Joyce, not to sow too soon. I know some packets say you can start sowing from Jan/Feb but you would soon find yourself overrun with little plants for a much longer period of time. I'm in Manchester and will start sowing in March, depending on the weather I might not be able to plant out in the garden until the end of May or even have to wait til June.
Couldnt help myself again today, another 3 big pots and got 3 packs of 4 x hyacinths (£1 a pack), still have 30 crocus bulbs left that a friend gave me so will get them sorted in the morning
Tree lilly bulbs arrived from T & M, really good condition and very happy.
So........... decided it was time for phase 2 in the garden, another 2m of membrane and 800 litres of red bark chip
4 new big pots with 4 bulbs (keeping 2 bulbs from the pack of 18 for my mum lol) in each and I managed to get a box of 50 mixed size aliums from B&Q for £5 so spread them over the 4 pots
