Good job! I love the naturalistic planting, I'm sure your garden is buzzing with wildlife. Thanks for sharing, it's always interesting to see picture comparisons and progress
Thanks for the kind words, it is nice to be able to share my progress. There are various clumps of snowdrops around the garden but I'm particularly drawn to the Aconites at the top of the garden by the compost heaps.
A little clump of Iris reticulata has also appeared. I guess these were always in this bed but in the past been smothered by weeds and I've not really noticed them.
It has been a while since I gave an update but that is not to say the garden hasn't been moving along. Our village open gardens is in July and this will be the first time ours has been open.
This little section has been planted up with a couple of cistus shrubs grown from cuttings and aquilegia, foxglove, shasta daisies and ox-eye daisies. There is also crocosmia and poppies remaining from the previous planting. I'm thinking about having trailing lobelia cascading out of the tops of the broken pots.
A little bit of fun by the back door. We've now got 'retired' wellies from each of us so we'll plant them all up to keep the hen company in the summer.
I chose not to cut the dogwood too short this year as it was bare-root planted last winter and will still be developing its roots. I really like the vivid leaf colour against the red stems.
This skimmia confusa is in flower at the moment in the very shady border by the back door. The aquilegia planted last autumn are doing well and I hope the luzula will bulk up a bit this year having been planted last spring.
Finally for tonight - the hardening off area. About 200 plants grown mostly from tiny bought-in plugs but also seeds, cuttings and a few bare roots. Some will be planted out when I've got a bit of time off work over Easter and some will get potted on.
Looking great Slum - love your hardening off area - shows just how productive you have been. Keep the photo diary going, its really great to see it all coming along

Both beautiful Slum - Will definitely be getting my hands on some Aconites for tree under planting next year.
